A Brush With Kindness
In the current economic environment, many homes and even entire neighborhoods
are falling into disrepair. Whether due to age, disability or family
circumstance, some low-income homeowners are no longer able to maintain
their homes. After many years of deferred
maintenance, properties can decline significantly and result in code
violations, loss of homeowner insurance, and even mortgage foreclosure. This
impacts not just the individual homeowners but entire neighborhoods. By
restoring such homes, A Brush With Kindness provides a helping hand to
low-income homeowners at a time of need.

Demolition Sales
When a homeowner decides to demolish a house or to do a major renovation,
CHFH conducts a one day sale on the premises where we sell everything in the
house the homeowner doesn't want. Habitat keeps the proceeds to support our
mission and the homeowner qualifies for a tax deduction while the purchasers
obtain low-cost materials for use in their house.

The ReStore
Coastal Habitat for Humanity operates a very successful "ReStore" within
Asbury Park. Our 8,000 square foot retail warehouse accepts donations of
used furniture, house wares and appliances which are then resold to local
residents. The ReStore
Campus Chapter
In our ongoing effort to engage the youth community, we are currently working
with 2 campus chapters. Each campus chapter is a student-led,
student-initiated organization at a high school or college campus that
partners with local Habitat affiliates. Campus Chapters tap into bountiful
energy and compassion of young people who recognize the injustice of poverty
housing and empowers them to make real changes in their own communities.
