Seed gift will fund program created for Southern Monmouth County seniors and veterans

January 5, 2016, Spring Lake Heights, NJ  –  Coastal Habitat for Humanity announced today Allstate New Jersey has donated $10,000 as seed funding for the Southern Monmouth County organization’s new Aging in Place program.  Aging in Place will extend the organization's impact by giving a "hand up" to seniors and veterans (of all ages) in jeopardy of being forced to move because they cannot maintain or maneuver their family homes.

“At Allstate, we are part of the communities in which we live and work,” said Joyce Buford, Stakeholder Relations, Allstate New Jersey.  “Our deep engagement in diverse communities is a result of this philosophy.  We cultivate an environment that creates community advocates who become inspired by compelling opportunities to give back.  Our donation will help low income seniors and veterans remain safely and securely in their homes.  Hand-in-hand, together we can make a difference in Southern Monmouth County.”

Since 1994, Coastal Habitat has assisted hundreds of people through housing solutions, including new construction, rehabilitations, repairs and education.

“We are extremely grateful to the Allstate Foundation for their generous donation in support of some of Monmouth County’s 100,000 seniors and 40,000 veterans,” said Maureen Mulligan, executive director, Coastal Habitat. “Allstate’s employees, families and agency owners have been an incredible part of the restoration of the Jersey Shore post-Sandy.  This donation extends their impact even further and deeper into the communities we serve.”
